Gymnopedie#1 Satie

Often unfairly described as ‘furniture music’, Gymnopedies were a breakaway from traditions of the time (late 19th century) and have also inspired a number of jazz versions. It is a small adjustment of imagination when listening to jazz pianist Bill Evans play ‘Alice in Wonderland’ to imagine how he might have interpreted ‘Premiere Gymnopedie’ together with flautist Jeremy Steig.
