about

Sometime 1987, I was living in Germany and I got a call from my old flute blowing mate Paul in New Zealand, who got straight to the point: "Do you want to play on my album?" "Sure, great...but.." These were pre-internet days, trans-continental projects were logistically tricky. My parents brought over from NZ Paul's 8 track tape in a suitcase, I overdubbed all my parts and sent back the master. Hence, In Transit. We also previously played in a group by the same name, we had played heaps together, so the distance thing wasn't a creative obstacle, just ever so slightly strange and bizarre. This is the only album we made together, and also the last time we played together (Paul moved somewhere remote), so it is something special - enjoy!
